Standardized Anti-Corrosion Solutions for Electro-Galvanized Strut Channels
Targeted Anti-Rust Measures
- Strictly limit applicable scenarios, avoid cross-environment use Electro-galvanized strut channels are only allowed for dry indoor factories, warehouses and indoor cable tray supports. Do not use them in basements, outdoor areas, coastal or chemical sites — switch to thick hot-dip galvanized profiles instead.
- Fully repair all damaged surfaces right after construction All cut edges, drilled holes, scratches and welding joints must be thoroughly coated with dedicated zinc-rich touch-up paint to rebuild the protective barrier and stop edge rust.
- Install insulating gaskets to eliminate galvanic corrosion Fit PVC isolation gaskets between electro-galvanized steel and stainless steel/aluminum fittings to block conductive electrochemical reactions and prevent local rust spots.
- Standardized moisture-proof storage rules Wrap profiles with sealed moisture-proof film, store them elevated off the ground in well-ventilated warehouses, and avoid rain or ponding immersion.
- Periodic inspection & maintenance for damp indoor sites Inspect supports every six months. Treat minor white rust with special galvanized repair spray promptly to contain rust expansion.
- Matching supporting anti-corrosion accessories Use electro-galvanized bolts and gaskets with the same coating process to avoid local corrosion caused by mismatched coating grades of fittings.
